New on the ‘nets this week

Once again, what is happening, what is new, what is been offered up to the bloggers for consumption?  Let’s take a dip into the deep end shall we?

  • Aquarium Drunkard posted on a Gram Parson’s tribute (very nice) and capped it off with the link to see/listen to a bit of acoustic Cardinology from Ryan Adams – so consider me in, so visit the post here!!
  • 3hive is always pumping out great music suggestions and has been a staple for a couple of years now.  Anyone getting started into “Slowcoustic” needs to dig through the vault that is “Slowcore” at 3Hive – all the staples and hidden items you would have never found.  Go and visit here.
  • Can’t Miss This – Shots Ring Out has posted the Damien Jurado Video for Caskets.  Damien Jurado is a legend around Slowcoutic HQ, so take a trip and visit SRO for a look see, here.  Freaking well done video.
  • Free Music Alert – the good folks over at Eardrums posted on lo-fi/indie songwriter Jacob Borchand and the fact that you can pick up an album of music – gratis!  Swing through Eardrums here.

I leave you today with another Wisconsin talent, Mr. Eric Rykal or you might know him as “The Gentle Guest“.   I finally got around to ordering the first EP from TGG entitled “Our Little Ruckus” over on Amble Down Records and I can’t recommend it enough.  While some of you may know more of the newer full length, let’s not forget where it started with this EP.  A bit slower and folk-ish as compared to the newer up tempo bluesy folk of “We Are Bound To Save Some Souls Tonight”.  Take a listen to a track from each below.
