And so ends a fantastic week of guest postage! Looking forward to checking all of these out over the summer break (it’s summer here in Oz, although you wouldn’t know it what with all the wind and rain we’ve been having lately).

Thanks to all contributors for a great week of ‘best’ lists, and for introducing me to a ton of stuff I’ve never heard of.

Yes, The Low Anthem are great! I am not posting on top songs (as it is just too damn hard to figure it all out) – but the song “Charlie Darwin” is on my top 10 songs of the year.

The Walkmen are a band I am not totally up to date on, but they sound not too shabby!

So nice to see The Low Anthem get some love, I can’t imagine why that record isn’t popping up on more year-end lists! Puzzles me. I see The Walkmen on nearly every list, and while those fellas are definitely talented, their compositions are really quite dull and tepid. Of course, Low Anthem aren’t without their problems either – they aren’t quite as compelling when they attempt to rock.
