New on the ‘Nets this Week

Around the blogs, there was much happening this week, lots of good stuff. I can only imagine if I followed more blogs! Well just in my corner of blog watching, I think the posts of note are included below.
~~
- ~ Wow, The Deep Dark Woods were up for an interview and post on our sister blog, You Crazy Dreamers. The new album “Winter Hours” could very well be the best album of the year at this point. I know it is early, but this will be on the list come December, trust me.
- ~ My Old Kentucky Blog posted a couple of nice videos – One for the in studio session for Greg Laswell on the Laundromatinee and a new Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy video (got my tickets for the Calgary show on March 24th!!). You might find a couple more videos to watch sandwiched between these two posts for Fleet Foxes and DM Stith as well…
- ~ I am Fuel, You Are Friends posted on her position of the (soon to take over) blogger crisis and that she made the change for the better (with extra links for a good read). This is getting a little bit scary…
- ~ The Torture Garden posted some insight to Neutral Milk Hotel – personal note: “Oh Comely” is possibly one of my all time favourite songs…ever.
- ~ For the movie blockbuster nerd in me – if this is legit, it’s both funny AND ridiculous!
~~
That is it for now, a few good reads/views for ya. I leave you today with a couple of live tracks from Anders Parker’s “14th & Division” album from last year or the year before depending on who you talk to (but actually recorded in 2005). Anders is the kind of guy that you know should be much more important to the scene than actually is. This is not a slight to him as the reason I say this is due to the quality of his work and ambition of his upcoming work. The man has recorded and will be releasing 4 projects as some sort of un-named multi-disc affair. It will cover everything – “Acoustic Anders”, “Electro Anders”, “Kickin’ Band Anders” and from what it sounds “Instrumental Guitar Rock Anders” – check his Website and his MySpace for more info on him and these projects.

Howdy,
You could be right about the deep dark woods, the more you listen to that album the greater it becomes, it’s an absolute triumph from start to finish.
@matt brown – hope you figure out the packaging, I am looking forward to it!
@Geordie – well hello friend! Yeah, I am soo glad you hooked me up with that album and your interview was top notch. It’s soo good.
