It’s not the new Chris Garneau Album, but damn it’s close

They Shoot Music was kind enough to do a profile on one of my favourite artists – Chris Garneau.  If you are not familiar, think of a more melancholy, less theatrical Sufjan Stevens.  This my friends, is a great thing.  Chris has incredible medley, timing and song crafting.  His album “Music For Tourists” from 2007 was a top ten for the year in my books, and still stands up today (and I am sure for a while).

If you are familiar with Garneau, you will absolutely love the video of “Not Nice” that was a special acoustic offstage session at the Steinway house in Vienna, Austria in October 2008.  Stunning.  You can also check out “We Don’t Try” and “Hands on the Radio” (from the new album) over at The Shoot Music – Don’t They.

As a bonus, please enjoy a couple of additional tracks that are not his new album (which is entitled “El Radio” and we should expect a May release – FYI), but are still damn fine.
