So a quick one today, kind of a “smash & grab” post as many bloggers refer to when music blogs put up a post with no real content, but with MP3 links. Umm, yeah – so I am kinda doing that, so back off haters.
I have 3 separate tracks from different artists, but all worthy of the right kind of attention, as opposed to the publicity stunt in the photo above – I think the actual tragedy is the fact that designs “in yo fade” is still done these days…but, that is another story. Lets get to some acoustic goodness!
Fulton Lights has a nice little cover of Neko Case from the Hinah Session from last year. Very sparse, but it totally works. It also can’t be that bad to be covering Neko Case! Make sure to visit for many more free downloads.
“I Wish I Was The Moon” – Fulton Lights — VISIT
Jordan Martin has recorded 3 EPs (again, this is the year of the EP folks) this year and he sent me what he thought I might like, and low & behold I liked it, a lot. All the tracks aren’t quite as banjo laden slowcoustic ballads such as this one, but the range might be something refreshing…
“Faithful John” – Jordan Martin — VISIT
Acres and Acres are a bit quirky, a bit folky and a whole lot of good. The new album “All Nations” (named after a church, true story) comes out on Sept. 29th, check out a great little folk pop gem from the duo out of Halifax!
“Polar Bear Song” – Acres and Acres — VISIT
Now sit back listen, realize it is Friday and thank me later.
