@Sean, yeah I think it is actually that blown out - its a bit of an aggressive recording. You really have to be ready for it! It is also a bit more tame than the album version apparently.... ;-)

Is that mp3 of Blood meant to sound so scrunched and blown out? I know it's lo-fi but I about went deaf when it came on. I loved Work is Done, though.

There is no bleak picture, there is only the whining of people whose personal fortunes were built on sands they hadn't realised were shifting quite so much, and are now complaining mightily because they are going to have to go out and think and innovate and actually fucking do something other than cry the fucking poor mouth in order to earn their livings again.

Sorry. I'll take my pills.

Ha! Toad, "bleak" in the sense that you are finding these rays of light in this bleak "big picture"/Macro view of the current music industry (as a whole as compared to the younger fresher industry folks). An overall industry that some say is currently without a future as we see it today...yeah that is what I meant...yeah.

Oh, and thanks Dirkler. I love that Navigator album, and Braden McKenna's solo stuff and at least one more album are all available for free (I think) download on the label website:

@ dirkler - yes, this is a new age of "music" and even newer for the music industry. Thanks for the comment.

Sorry folks for no links to Song, by Toad - WordPress won't let me edit this post now, but of course it may be a host issue.

Visit Song, by Toad for more prose! ;-)

I think this falls into the category of being completely accurate.

"these days there is a lot of love to go around, and that's the most inspiring thing I've noticed this year"

Couldn't agree more with you Matthew. I feel like the new kid on the block and have felt nothing but love from everyone surrounding my efforts. And I can't thank them all enough for it. I'd just love to shake their hands or hug them!

And thank you for introducing us all to Navigator. Both songs are beautiful in very different ways. The passion and realism of what they are doing screams through those mics and onto that tape. Love it so much it almost hurts. (that sounds exaggerated but it's the pure truth)
