Being a huge fan of this style of singer songwriter performance – and especially Will Johnson and Jason Molina..frick, match made in indie heaven. Highly Recommended.
Not unlike his moniker, I find the music Saylor creates can have a bit of everything in an unassuming package – there is country, folk, noise, rock all mixed into a lo-fi package that really works.
…I am also not going to get started on sound quality and “hipster quotient” scenarios involved – lets just leave it at the fact that I still buy physical media.
So I haven’t made a label playlist in a while and I noticed the good folks over at IODA have a fair amount from one of my favourite Portland (East side: Maine, not west side: Oregon) labels – Peapod Recordings!
