Weekend Discovery: Spider + Octopus. Unlikely pairing provides enjoyable lo-fi folk

Spider + Octopus

I like finding the real gems of the indie artist/label/creative types.  I think Spider + Octopus (Chad Bishop + Renee Arozqueta) who also are a part of their own Label, Zombies and Lizards (of course it is), is that discovery.

What you are getting here are a collection of pretty darn catch lo-fi folk tunes – from ukulele to piano to accordion and even solo acoustic guitar.   This has a bit of everything for the true folk music enthusiast types – great music, actual cohesive collection of songs, and what looks like a good bunch of folks (come on, look at that photo above, don’t you wanna just hang out with them?)

Well, let’s try some songs to start your Sunday listening experience – I am sure they will spill over into your daily playlists as well as they are with me.  You can find a sampler below with much more available on their Virb Page as well as an order option on their MySpace!

Skin on Skin
The Second
Satallites in the Stars
I Have Longed for a Ship
A Dark Forest Song to Sing in a Scary Place
Yellow Doll
