One of my recent finds was St. Louis radio station KDHX and their great list of in studio performances on their Soundcloud page. Seriously folks, there is a massive amount of talent that comes through their doors. While not all is up my alley, there is definitely enough to have something for pretty much any reader of this blog. They are not for profit and are community focused, could use your support….and just happen to record kick ass sessions. For good measure, their mission statement:
“The mission of KDHX is to build community through media, with diverse and independent voices that enrich the perspectives of our audiences. We promote civic and cultural participation by providing the tools, technology, and training vital to informed, creative expression.”
Sounds like a good crew, right? Okay, I know you are looking for an example of these sessions, so look and listen no further – a selection is below as our Monday playlist.
David Bazan “Virginia” Live at KDHX 6/10/11 by KDHX

Frontier Ruckus “Junk Drawer Sorrow” Live at KDHX 6/10/11 by KDHX

Jill Andrews “A Little Less” Live at KDHX 6/9/11 by KDHX

The Antlers “Every Night My Teeth Are Falling Out” Live at KDHX 6/11/11 by KDHX

This is just a sampling as they have also posted great sets from Jonsi, Strand of Oaks, William Fitzsimmons, The Low Anthem and Hayes Carll. You can check out their live performance page HERE or simply click over to their Soundcloud page for all things worth listening to HERE.
Enjoy your Monday.

That Bazan track’s a good one. Thanks for sharing that.
I just saw him last night. He’s always so solid.
@Adrian – I agree totally, the whole Bazan set is fantastic at KDHX.
I am very jealous of you getting to see him, hope it was one of those smaller house shows!
