Long Distance Salvation: A Tribute To Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska

In January 1982, holed up in his spare bedroom with nothing but an acoustic guitar, harmonica, and a 4-track cassette recorder, Bruce Springsteen recorded an American folk masterpiece. Now, 30 years later, a new generation of songwriters pay tribute to ‘Nebraska’…

Compilation to look forward to, right?  The classics are the classics and some don’t like them to be ‘messed’ with even if it is in tribute.  I fortunately am not one of those purists.  Good music is good music.  Get a bunch of great musicians covering an amazing album…hell, why not?  So far only the lead off title track from The Wooden Sky is streaming and it is great.

Amiright?

You can pre-orer a limited vinyl or digital option on the bandcamp page and you can also find more information on the project website: www.longdistancesalvation.com.  All proceeds (100% is “all” in case you were wondering) go to Project Bread!

So then, what are you waiting for?  Head over for the pre-order now or you can be lazy and wait until its release on September 20th, 2012.  Don’t be lazy.
