Love Jurado & love Tillman, but I feel like there are about 50 Tillman songs I’d rather see Jurado cover. “When I Light Your Darkened Door,” like almost every Tillman song, is good, but it’s probably my least-favorite song on that album.

By the way, Jurado posted this link to his Facebook page. Hopefully, some Jurado fans will be introduced to the excellence of the Slowcoustic blog this way.

Nice post. Over 3 years later the frenzie isn’t showing signs of dying down.

I of course discovered the earlier music after hearing about this “Bon Iver”. Enjoyed it to bits, then discovered DeYarmond Edison. Forgot about Bon Iver for a bit. Then discovered the early Justin Vernon that you refer to above and that’s all I’m listening to right now, in the midst of the noise of Bon Iver’s grammys for best NEW artist (ironic?). This stuff is really dark and I know I can’t listen to it forever. I’ll work my way back to Bon Iver, but I’m not ready for that yet.

Thanks so much for this great interview! I love how Slowcoustic keeps us in the know on what EM is up to. I’d love to hear Elephant Micah and Mark Kozelek together on a track that would be a nice blend I think. OH the new album! It has been playing on repeat. It’s only just Feb. but Airline Living will most likely be my favorite track of 2012 with If I Were a Surfer as a strong contender. But then he could always release another album this year……? And, maybe we will get to hear some of the rough cuts? I’ll milk you for all you’ve got.
