This isn’t a review or even a lengthy diatribe on the album. Just a heads up for everyone to start thinking about the upcoming album from The Savings and Loan due out on December 6th, 2010. No seriously, this is one stellar album and I can’t say enough great things about it. There will be obvious comparisons with this album to a more “Scottish” version of Bill Callahan vs. The National for both lyrics and the almost baritone delivery of said lyrics. Painfully good.
Listen to a great teaser track from the album and keep an eye out for the lengthy diatribe I will eventually have on Today I Need Light.

whoa…how killer is that? thanks!
Cheers Mr. Smith, very much appreciated.
I just wanted to stop by and say Thanks for turning me on to some VERY cool music. You have opened my eyes and ears to some musicians I probably never would have found otherwise. Thanks too for the heads up about the new The Savings and Loan release!
Yeah, that’s a killer song for sure. How awesome is that dissonant guitar that runs through the background of most of the song? There’s nothing like some well-placed dissonance to take a song from good to awesome.
