Tuesday Covershot: “Old, Old Fashioned (Frightened Rabbit Cover)” from John Statz

I haven’t had much time for music blogging lately due to work, the hockey playoffs (because I’m clearly involved), commutes and other things that you don’t need to bother yourself with.  I am also unwilling to let you all go without good music for too long as that just isn’t right.  No, sir, just not right.

Today, we have John Statz’s cover of a pretty popular Frightened Rabbit track and other than the fact that I don’t listen to too much Frightened Rabbit, its pretty good.  Not too much production, probably a live take actually, but that is the way I like my singer songwriters these days.  Listen below:

John has a couple of darn good albums as well that you can find on his Bandcamp page (here) and I can’t recommend his name-your-price EP “The Budapest Sessions” enough, great EP that you all should have (here).  Plus you can’t go wrong with a guy who has a song called “Our Love Was Made For Canada”.  You just can’t.
