Sloan
“Unkind” (mp3)
from “The Double Cross”
(Outside Music)
I have always had a soft spot for Sloan since ‘Underwhelmed’ back in the day. I admit I haven’t followed them exclusively over the last few years, but they seem to still be pretty much Sloan. The power guitar stroke and pseudo punk-pop feel. This song I’m posting isn’t exactly ‘Slowcoustic’, but I need a little oompf today to get through until I go on vacation this Friday. This new Sloan track is providing a bit of that oompf for me.

p.s. One of my favourite bits of lyrics from Underwhelmed:
She wrote out a story
About her life
I think it included
Something about me
I’m not sure of that
But I’m sure of one thing
Her spelling’s atrocious
She told me to read
Between the lines
And tell her exactly
What I got out of it
I told her affection had two F’s
Especially when
You’re dealing with me
