Our friend Tyler Butler is releasing his new 4 song EP entitled Violence tomorrow night in Edmonton at the release show in the historic Rutherford House.  It isn’t to be missed, so hit up the Facebook event (here) for more info and I do believe there will be a few tickets at the door just in case (but only a few, so be there early).

The EP is a touch softer than the title may lead you to believe but may sway slightly to the folk-country from some of his earlier work – you might hear it in the currently streaming track Ben.  Listen below for an idea.

The title of the EP refers to one of the tracks, Violence by the North Saskatchewan, which is probably my favourite song on the release.  I have heard Butler play it live once before this EP was planned and was blown away – in true form, it sets the scene for the intimate headphone listens – or an intimate house show or even an EP release show in a historic venue…  The whole thing comes highly recommended and there will even be CDs for purchase tomorrow as well, so don’t miss out on this inaugural release from Old Ugly Recording Co.’s new folk imprint project Cabin Songs.

Alright Edmonton, you have been told.
