[warning]In case you don’t already know, Evening Hymns have made one of the best albums of 2012.  Easily.[/warning]

Today brings a new video from Neil Haverty (of Bruce Peninsula) for the track Spirit In The Sky from the aforementioned album from Evening Hymns (purchase Spectral Dusk here – get the vinyl, it is fantastic and only 24 left as of this sentence!).  If I may pull from Jonas Bonnetta himself, this song and video are described as such:

Writing that song I wanted it to feel like it was being pulled back and forth like a piece of floatsam in the sea, kind of washing in and out, and then eventually being swept away completely… Neil’s video does the same for me, slowly reveals something really simple but also beautiful…

Well, here in Calgary we are lucky enough to have Evening Hymns swinging by this coming Wednesday (Nov. 7th) at The Lantern along with a stellar line-up of Andy Shauf, Reuben and the Dark and Boreal Sons – I think CBC will be in the house doing some recording for the latter as well.  I am very much looking forward to having the album translating into the live performance – Spectral Dusk in a church?  Definitely.  So any of you Canadians in the below cities now have plans for the coresponding dates for the Evening Hymns Canadian Tour.
