2020…what to say that hasn’t been said about this sh#tshow of a year?
If I actually am saying something about this year (and I am) then I think it was actually quite good for music. I am sure many/most of these albums were in the works well before this whole “2020” thing/situation/hell-scape kicked off, so that may have saved it. I dunno. The image gallery below represents my favourite releases for the year (the album name in each square will link to purchase/visit). These albums include folk, some country and even some pop but all are Slowcoustic jams.
I think the Keaton Henson album “Monument” would win out as my favourite of the year if I was tied down and politely asked to choose. It is quiet, pensive, intimately personal, ridiculously beautiful and perfect for late night music listening. Did I mention he looks like my nephew? Well, he does. And I find it a bit awkward when he doesn’t pick up an acoustic guitar at family gatherings and attempt to make us all cry….

I own almost all of the of these albums in physical format — I think I am only missing a couple due to crazy shipping or no vinyl option or I am simply waiting on it to arrive. I urge you to pick up a copy as well, preferably from your local record shop…you know…not to be too preachy and all that.
I would also embed more streams and such, but this blog has been updated a little too much and I can’t figure out how to make it look okay. Okay?
