So things have been a bit quiet around Slowcoustic HQ lately. Okay, yeah, understatement.
I have been meaning to post something, anything, here on my (formerly) beloved music blahg. Finally something, someone, has shaken me awake – a bit humorous to say about a style of music that essentially most people use to slow down with and move slower to. I get it, welcome back to Slowcoustic. People, it is Sister Ray and there is a new album coming out called “Believer” and you can watch a live version of the title track above (or the official visualizer here)
Sister Ray is Canadian Ella Coyes, and I have found everything they release is fantastic – the 2023 EP “Teeth” and the stellar 2022 album “Communion” come highly recommended – Communion was what won me over originally and would have been a contender for my favourite album of 2022 if I actually found it in time. The new album is slated for an April 4th release day and yours truly has done the lord’s work and pre-ordred the coke-bottle clear vinyl from Royal Mountain Records already. I highly recommend you join me and listening to what is Slowcoustic’s Favourite New Music, Video and Artist!
Recommended if you like Big Thief, a bit of Phoebe Bridgers, old school Sharon Van Etten with a sprinkle of Julien Baker. I am now just listing musicians I like now I guess.

I hope you find the music of Sister Ray your new obsession just as I have.
