Featured Video: "Lift the Shadow From This Heart" - Hezekiah Jones

With it being Valentine’s Day and Hezekiah Jones having a new album coming out at the end of March, I thought it a great day to put a first listen to one of my favourite songs in the last few months: “Lift the Shadow From This Heart” from Hezekiah Jones.

The video is a great slowed down black and white clip with the song almost floating above the visuals. Not that the visuals necessarily have anything to do with the song per se, but they are just a great background to the song. The video was put together by Morgan King (former owner of Yer Bird Records and good friend) and the track is from the upcoming album “Have You Seen Our New Fort?” we are releasing over on Yer Bird Records. Speaking of, there will be a release party in Philadelphia at World Cafe Live this Thursday in part for this album.

There is a couple of reasons you should be going to the show on Thursday, Feb. 17th and it includes an exclusive pre-release purchase of the “Have You Seen Our New Fort?” (vinyl with download code)! While HJ is truly a staple of the Philly folk scene, it is only fitting that guests of this release show get the chance to purchase their copy of the new album early. After this show the album then goes into hiding until the full release on March 29th, 2011. The release show is actually a TRIPLE release party for Hezekiah Jones, Joe D’Amico (see previous post on Joe) and Up The Chain – so seriously…three new albums in one night – a must see.
