Now Streaming: The Sumner Brothers’ new album – I’ll Be There Tomorrow

The Sumner Brothers - I'll Be There Tomorrow

The Sumner Brothers are a staple of Canadian Roots, Country-Folk for me. I have been following the brothers (and crew) for a while and they have blessed me with many great songs from their previous albums as well as their amazing cover song project in their email newsletters (see the bottom of this post to get on board and start getting free songs).  The brothers mix a rootsy country vibe mixed in with some more raucous moments – which lead me to believe that their live shows tend to be an experience.  I can’t say enough good things about them and they are a must listen for anyone who enjoys the Ameriana/Alt-country/Folk stuff.  So that means you.

The brothers (Brian and Bob) out of Vancouver, B.C. also have a new album, I’ll Be There Tomorrow, due out on September 15th at all your major e-tailers and live shows.  Aaaaaand guess what?  We have an advance stream of the album for your listening pleasure!  See below;

The album includes one of my all time favourite songs, Going Out West, which appeared on their previous album In The Garage which came out about 6 years ago.  Well, they decided to re-record it and spruce it all up and it sounds crazy good.  I honestly find this one of those sing out loud songs – and I don’t sing well, so this means something.  Another stand out track is their cover of the Townes Van Zandt track Colorado Girl which they do more than justice to.

The aforementioned tracks are a couple of the slower tracks, but you will find some bite in this dog with tracks like That’s Alright and the opening track The Toughest Man In Prison Camp.  Like I said, image it live?!?  If I had to list one song that might make me think of The Sumner Brothers on the album (outside of Going Out West as that is just a song that stands alone all time) I would have to tell you to listen to You Will Find Me [slower, nicer country] or even When You Dig My Grave [a bit more gritty bluesy country].

So keep an eye out on their WEBSITE, FACEBOOK, TWITTER and BANDCAMP pages for more information on the brothers and the new album!  I do think you should PRE-ORDER the album as well.  Also, as mentioned above, you can visit their website to join up for their newsletter and get a free song HERE (and they will continue to send them about every month or so).

Those in the Vancouver area can take part in the album release show at The Rio Theatre on Saturday, September 15th!

Along with Slowcoustic, the album is streaming at Songs:Illinois, HeroHill, You Crazy Dreamers and Nine Bullets – visit them already.
