New teaser video for Andy Shauf’s upcoming album The Bearer of Bad News is out. There is a new song streaming from the album as well. Today is a good day.
The new video was done from our friend Brock Mitchell over at Shot At The Dark and it is his visual interpretation of Shauf’s album – and it fits in quite nicely if I had to say. Watch it below (go full screen with it for sure):
Now another great thing is the song in the video is actually now streaming via Shauf’s Soundcloud & Bandcamp pages – it is called I’m Not Falling Asleep and is stunning. It is a piano (and I believe clarinet?) lament moving at half speed. Stream the entire thing below.
Then entire album is a collection of stories – stories with messages to kill from god, heroes that require no praise, tired old men and the imminent darker times that may lie ahead of all of us. While it sounds a bit bleak, Shauf presents it with a delicate presence, almost a death bed comfort to all those who listen. Don’t let this last series of images dissuade you from the beauty of The Bearer of Bad News – you may just miss some of the best music you will hear all year.
